The pair went public with their relationship in April 2022, but they've been linked since October 2021. They've known each other since meeting while cohosting MTV's music seriesWonderlandin 2016.

Lizzo recently spoke about Wright onThe Drew Barrymore Showand how she was on a path for herself when they met. "I feel like romantic love, I know this is gonna sound crazy, but it starts off very selfish," she said.

"You have to be like, 'I'm living for me.' I don't want to be out here searching for somebody else or searching for a second half. I'm complete, and then when you are complete you attract, and I believe that when I was on my path," continued Lizzo, noting she was going through "some crazy stuff" when they met.

Working onWonderlandled Lizzo to move from Minneapolis to L.A., and they got to know each other on set — first as "just friends."

"I was like, 'Wow, he's so cool. Like, this is my best friend,' and I love the friends-to-lovers trope," she said. "He understands every aspect of me…because when you're friends there's no audition. Like, with romance you're auditioning, you're going on dates and you're trying to show off the best version of yourself so they can like you."

Earlier this week, Lizzo also marked her 38th birthday with the announcement of her upcoming album,Bitch, set for a June 5 release. She explained the title in a statement.

"Reclaiming the wordBitchis power," began Lizzo. "It's taking a label once used to diminish women and turning it into a declaration of confidence, and unapologetic self-love."

The artist, who referred to herself in the past as "100% that bitch" on her hit "Truth Hurts," isn't the only musician to flip the term.

"So many incredible women in music have used the word for positivity like Meredith Brooks andMissy [Elliott]," added Lizzo, referencing Brooks' hit "Bitch" and Elliott's "She's a Bitch."

"It was only fitting to name my albumBitchbecause it has become my favorite word when using it on my own terms," continued Lizzo's statement, "and because I am 100% that bitch!"

Lizzo will release the album's title track, which interpolates Brooks' "Bitch," on Friday, May 1.

On Monday, during the Wings' media day, Bueckers used her opening statement to address her relationship with Fudd. Bueckers said she planned to address it once with the media, and the pair would decide to share moving forward as they saw fit.

"Me and Azzi have always been the utmost professional. We've always conducted ourselves as such, and we'd never let anything that happens off the court carry onto the court,"Bueckers said. "And that's what we continue to do.

"We've been doing this for a long time. ... So we will continue to use that experience to show up and be professionals, teammates, great leaders − great leaders, the hardest workers and continue to show up and do our job and help the Dallas Wings win basketball games."

WNBA No. 1 overall draft picks by year

Bueckers reiterated she understood the media has a job to do and will ask questions about the basketball aspect of their relationship. However, if the questions turn to their personal relationship, Bueckers said she and Fudd will refer to her statement on Monday or deflect to questions about their teammates.

Bueckers also said Fudd was the No. 1 draft pick because she earned it and it had nothing to do with her and everything to do with who Fudd is as person and basketball player.

"Azzi is her own great, individual person, and she should be celebrated as such," Bueckers said.

Bueckers and her relationship with Fudd were recently pushed into the spotlight during Fudd's introductory press conference on April 16. Fudd was asked a pointed question about whether she was still in a relationship with Bueckers. The Wings public relations team stepped in toshut down the question.

“I understand why you have to ask that question. But we are going to respectfully decline on commenting on a player’s personal life," a Wings PR person said.
