Prince George,Princess CharlotteandPrince Louishad the honor of naming a baby kangaroo at the Irwin family's Australia Zoo.

On May 7, the Australia Zoo announced thatKate Middleton,Prince Williamand their three children named its newest eastern grey kangaroo joey.Robert Irwininvited the family to help name the joey and they chose a meaningful moniker.

The royals named the new kangaroo Cwtch (pronounced "Kutch"), a Welsh word meaning "cuddle."

The cute pick nodded to William and Kate's Prince and Princess of Wales titles, and Irwin, 22, shouted out Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, 8, for their assistance in picking it in anInstagramvideo released Thursday.

"G'Day! It's Robert Irwin here with a couple of my mates. This is of course the icon of Australia, the kangaroo, and I'm very proud to announce that my friends, the Wales family, helped us to name our beautiful new joey," theDancing with the Starschamp said as he said in the grass, with Cwtch, her mother and another kangaroo beside him.

The wildlife conservationist described Cwtch as "the absolute perfect name" for a joey kangaroo as at that age they "love a cuddle" and spend most of their time in their mother's pouch.

"I want to say a particular thank-you to Prince George, Prince Louis and Princess Charlotte for your help in finding this one a brilliant name," he said, and underscored out the importance of protecting wildlife.

Cwtch already seems to have another fan in the Irwin family, as Robert's motherTerri Irwincommented below the clip shared as a joint post with the Prince and Princess of Wales' handle, "So special.💕"

Robert similarly voiced his joy in a statement, where he said, "I absolutely love the name ‘Cwtch’ - it couldn’t be more perfect for this little joey. I am so thankful to have received special assistance from Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis with the naming."

"Cwtch is already stealing hearts, and I hope she inspires people to fall in love with wildlife and want to help protect it," he added.

Robert helps run Queensland's Australia Zoo alongside his mother Terri and sisterBindi Irwin, and is an ambassador for Prince William'sEarthshot Prize, a prestigious global contest galvanizing positive environmental change through a decade-long effort.

Speaking to PEOPLEat London's Climate Action Week in June 2025, he described William as a "kindred spirit" and said his activism surely inspires his children.

Robin Williamsmay have been a comedy legend without parallel, but one of his most famous co-stars now admits it took her some time to warm to his sense of humor.

Appearing on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” Wednesday,Sally Fieldreflected on her experience working with Williams on 1993’s “Mrs. Doubtfire.”

Williams, she recalled, spent much of his time trying to get his co-stars to crack up while on the set, even if it sometimes meant breaking character.

“Everyone would laugh but me,” she said. “It drove him mad, actually, because I would never laugh, ever.”

The two-time Oscar winner offered a very simple explanation as to why she didn’t laugh.

“It just wasn’t funny,” she said, later adding, “Robin was always trying something different to make me laugh. It was so unfunny, I can’t begin to tell you.”

Directed by Chris Columbus, “Mrs. Doubtfire” follows Daniel Hilliard (played by Williams), an out-of-work actor who loses custody of his three children after a messy divorce from his wife, Miranda (Field).

Interestingly, Field went on to reveal that it was actuallyPierce Brosnan― who portrayed Miranda’s post-divorce love interest, Stuart ― who successfully made her laugh before Williams did.

“We were sitting at a table at the restaurant, and he made a fart noise on his arm, and I was gone,” she said.

As for Williams, he was understandably dismayed at Brosnan getting Field to break so easily.

“He said, ‘That’s all it took?’” Field quipped. “I had to leave for a minute. I laughed so hard, they had to redo my makeup.”

Williamsdiedin 2014 at age 63 in an apparent suicide. Last year, fellow “Mrs. Doubtfire” actor Matthew Lawrencerecalled the quiet bondhe shared with his late co-star, noting Williams would speak frankly about his experiences with drug and alcohol addiction during the time they worked together.

“He really quantified what it was to be a real artist for me in the sense that he was definitely, and I worked with some great people, and he was definitely the most brilliant artist I’ve ever worked with,” Lawrencetold Entertainment Weeklylast year. “But on top of that, he had the compassion, he had the humility, and he also had these things that he struggled with.”

Field returns to the small screen this week opposite Lewis Pullman in “Remarkably Bright Creatures.” The film adaptation of Shelby Van Pelt’s2022 bestselling novelhits Netflix Friday.

High Desert swimmers shine at the CIF-Southern Section swimming championships

Nine swimmers from the High Desert competed at the CIF-Southern Section swimming championships at Mt. San Antonio College.

Granite Hills freshman Sosetina Esquibel made a splash at the Division 4 finals on May 7, swimming in three races.

Esquibel took third place in the girls 50 freestyle with a time of 25.51 seconds, just besting her mark of 25.84 at the prelims on May 5.

“Sosetina began the season with no formal swim training and quickly became our fastest sprinter,” said Granite Hills assistant coach Tracy Bright. “Her goal going into finals was to be 1% better. She certainly achieved that goal. Sosetina will continue to be a force in the DSL and CIF-SS.”

Esquibel also competed in two relay races with fellow freshman Melana Serrano, sophomore Bethany Bright and Sophia Knight, a senior.

They took fourth place in the 4x50-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:48.84, and fifth place in the 4x100-yard freestyle relay with a mark of 4:04.86, which they shaved nearly five seconds off from their mark set at the prelims.

“We are excited about what next season will bring with the return of Sosetina, Melana and Bethany as they build on their strength and skills in this sport,” Bright said. “They have record-breaking work ethic, potential, sportsmanship and character. We are excited to keep this momentum up and add to our swim program. Our motto this year has been ‘go have fun swimming fast with friends.’ And that is exactly what we did.”

On the boys side at the Division 4 finals, Burroughs senior Dustin Bui claimed first place in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.32 seconds. He also finished fifth in the 50 freestyle at 22.36 seconds.

Three Silverado swimmers qualified for the Division 3 finals, which were held Friday morning.

Silverado’s Isabel Maust capped her high school swimming career by claiming fourth place in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.54 seconds. Maust also finished seventh in the 100 freestyle at 54.11 seconds.

Maust will continue her swimming career at Biola University.

She was joined by teammates Tommy Fernandez and Cameron McIlroy at the finals.

Both finished 18th in their races. Fernandez posted a time of 2:07.59 in the 200-yard IM, while McIlroy finished the 100 butterfly at 54.64 seconds.

Massey’s go-ahead 2-run homer lifts Royals past Guardians 5-3 for their fifth straight win

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Michael Massey hit a go-ahead two-run homer, Isaac Collins also went deep and the Kansas City Royals pushed their winning streak to five with a 5-3 victory over the AL Central-rival Cleveland Guardians on Tuesday night.

Stephen Kolek allowed a three-run shot by Rhys Hoskins but little else over six innings in his season debut. The right-hander strained his oblique in his first start of spring training, but Kolek had pitched well in four rehab starts at Triple-A Omaha before the Royals had him make a spot start for Noah Cameron, who's dealing with some lower back tightness.

Nick Mears and Daniel Lynch IV handled a scoreless inning apiece in relief for Kansas City, and Lucas Erceg worked around a two-out walk in the ninth to earn his third save in four games and 10th of the season.

The Guardians' Gavin Williams (5-2) allowed five runs and eight hits with two walks while losing for the first time since March 27, when the Mariners beat him in the second game of the season. Williams had since won five decisions covering six starts.

The Royals jumped to a 2-0 lead on Salvador Perez's single in the first, but the Guardians pulled ahead in the fourth. With two runners aboard, Hoskins sent a 2-1 pitch from Kolek clanking off the left-field foul pole just above the outfield padding for a 3-2 lead.

Massey answered with his two-run homer in the bottom half, though. The 392-foot drive off Williams' 2-2 pitch came moments after Guardians catcher Bo Naylor had challenged a called ball, which would have produced a strikeout had he been successful.

Collins added his homer in the sixth inning, giving him a 3-for-3 night but leaving him a triple short of the cycle.

LHP Joey Cantillo (1-1, 3.67 ERA) starts for Cleveland on Wednesday night. LHP Cole Ragans (1-4, 5.29) starts for Kansas City.
